#1867| Street Style x Europe

imagesParis, France.
Photos taken by the beautiful Amanda/beautifuladieu

One afternoon in Paris chasing down beautiful men people on the streets, and shaking off cobwebs of dazzlement just in time to be coherent but even then just barely. What a great excuse to walk up to someone and tell them they’re gorgeous without being socially awkward though. What did I come here to say? Oh yes – I basically meandered around the topic but hey, new european street style episode out here:

I know you know what I’m talking about when I say I hope you like what you see – I know I did, and I’m not just talking about the clothes.

*slow wink*

#1863| “Always”

Hogwarts shirt: Primark | Cat eyed Sunnies: Primark | Grey leather jacket: H&M | Black skirt: H&M | Black leather backpack: Yesstyle.com | Watch: Swatch

imagesInverness, Scotland

Not the actual Hogwarts castle, but hey, at least it’s Hagrid’s homeland. Is it close enough? Talk about aiming for the moon and hitting the stars.. or something along those lines. I very accidentally walked right into discovering an empty Primark store one afternoon in Scotland, and till then I didn’t even know the words empty and Primark could be used in the same sentence. I guess noone knew about this outlet. As I approached the huge building, excited, my pace quickening, my boyfriend looked worriedly at me and tugged at my hand. Jem.. just because it’s Primark doesnt mean you have to buy anything, okay?

I stared at him: Shane, your jokes aren’t funny.

He got all offended, but hey, I got new clothes.
Boys, am I right.

Also, I’m back on the show! New Primark Episode up here:

#1815| Just around the River Benz

What did I say about touristy things? We visited the Mercedes Benz museum sometime last week, and although I’m not very into cars myself, it’s something of their pride and joy here in Germany so we thought it’d be good to give it a shot.

Mercedes Benz Museum
Mercedesstraße 100, 70372 Stuttgart
Closed on Mondays, Open 9-6 Tues-Sun
Entry: 8Euros/ adult, 4Euros/ discounted ticket (I assume this means student card discount or something because we only paid 4)

Cars to me are just shiny and pretty and if they get me to where I need to go without having to wrangle with public transport, I love. The cars here though, were in a totally different league. The museum showcased the history of the brand and other cars/brands associated with it – my favorite section included the one with the old school buses and gorgeous vintage cars. They just don’t make automobiles like that anymore. I’d take the bus everyday if it looked anything like the one pictured above. You’re not actually supposed to climb into the exhibits, but yolo.

some things remain the same no matter what country you’re in..

There were also some pretty sick miniature carvings on display showcasing the history of the automobile. Check it out:

I bet the couple in the front is having some sort of embarrassing lover’s tiff in front of the kids and the woman behind tried to skip paying her fares. Looks like citizens in the past were just as law breaking.

All things said and done though, this place is probably a car fanatic’s wet dream. The exhibits are gorgeous, no doubt, but I was kind of through with the place after a couple of hours. Worth a visit if you’ve got the time to spare and/or love cars. Probably a guy’s kind of place, come to think of it.

Oh yes, it’s right next to their VFB Stuttgart soccer stadium. Definitely a guy’s place then.

Messing around outside the museum at dusk. The place is really gorgeous – and it looks like fall even though it’s really winter right now. I went along with the whole excursion/field trip theme and wore this adorable collared dress c/o i.t Labels Singapore there along with thick blue leggings, boots, and a green coat.

Dresses are so convenient, no matter where you are, you know? This one is a bit more cutesy than im normally used to, but here’s to new things in the new year. Thank you i.T Singapore for the love!

Next up on the blog: The luxurious town of Baden Baden.

In other news, things I’m excited about include the latest episode of That F Word being released back in Singapore – an episode, ironically enough, about Chinese New Year fashion.

Let me know what you think! x

#1801| No sympathy.

Dying, guys, because it’s the exam period, but I don’t dare complain because I’m not getting an ounce of sympathy, not even from my family, because everyone is just like SHUT UP YOU WENT TO LANGKAWI LAST WEEK. Which is legitimate. I’d slap myself if I weren’t me, but i am, so.

Anyway, here are a couple of shots from our Langkawi trip last week. From the top:

1. Boating down the langakwian (yes i made that word up shush) river on the Naturally Langkawi river tour – saw bats, mangroves, lots of weird and wonderful stuff, went CAVING because i’m adventurepants1992 now.

2. Smiling at a stingray at a floating fish farm, also part of the tour.

3. Drea being a qtpie with her ‘i love dis hotel room’ face. (we stayed at the langkawi lagoon resort, more on that next time)

4. Ingredients for my face.

PS. Guys this is the best shizz if you’re planning to make the most of your trip, take it from me.

Moving on:

My hair officially makes its debut on the show (also you guys can see what it looks like when it’s .. moving, as opposed to just in pictures), new episode re: fashion obsessions released today! I really like it actually because I get to upskirt andrea, so watch it here:

Of late i seem to be having problems ending my blogposts. It’s obvious that it’s time to end the post because i dont have much else to say, and I need to get back to studying, and also, I’m too sleepy to really be coherent or anything like that, but I dont quite know how to end it. I feel like I’m playing the you hang up first game with my blog. The point is, I have to go now, so-

You hang up first.

#1782| being rational about fall/winter in singapore

Everytime someone turns to me goes I love fall/winter I’m just like What are you talking about this is Singapore. But then I went and filmed an entire episode yakking about fall/winter trends so i guess i should shut up now. Despite what i say, I kind of get it though- the fall/winter trends are so gorgeous, if slightly impractical due to weather woes, and this season’s emphasis on leather piling and bright tones are so amazing i want to cry. If i ever migrate you’ll know weather is the reason.

Anyway, i.t Labels Singapore invited Drea and I down a couple of weeks ago for their breakfast tea party x fall winter launch preview, and I just wanted to stuff my face in all the .. fabric. Check out the detail on that embroidered wool sweater. And the quilted take on the varsity jacket. Goodness. i.t Labels Singapore is a multilabel concept store that features Asian designers, which i love because 1. it’s so unique 2. each designer has a very distinct style and 3. it’s tailored to asian weather!!

Here I’m dolled from head to toe in fifty shades of leather from various brands in i.t

And obviously i’m adopting the multi leather pairing trend, because.. leather. People are always asking me how i survive in leather despite the weather but hey, nobody said love was easy am i right. Besides, it’s relatively cooler in singapore now thanks to the rain, so.

Thanks for the invitation, i.t labels singapore!

Speaking of fall/winter trends, we filmed an episode exclusively about that lately. I’m only about, see, two weeks late in posting about it, but you can watch it here:

I filmed this while on a 38.5degree fever so i couldnt remember anything i said in the episode but noone seems to have noticed in the final cut that i was completely drugged the entire way, so i guess it’s a good thing. And also that I should take Panadol before filming every episode in the future.

Other things I’ve been up to include:

Turning twenty one at midnight at the glamorous Sky Grand Prix F1 party held at Zafferano. I know it’s customary for people to throw parties for their twenty first but it’s really not my kind of thing (read: I’m too lazy) so I just hitched on existing parties as an excuse to drink champagne and get dressed up. And also somehow i tend to fall for this every year.. but I got kidnapped again and whisked to a birthday surprise from one end of the island to the other.

This bunch of people are just damn amazing they also threw me the most amazing twentieth birthday party last year and I’m apparently going for a short surprise holiday in KL next week with Drea, Cinch and Han for my twenty-first.

I also had various birthday meet up dinners over the last couple of weeks with my Secondary school/ JC/ etc friends which was very gratifying because it was basically an excuse to get my ass out of NTU and meet people i havent seen in forever:

Terrible lighting but here’s my girl clique of nine years x

Also, more friends got married:

And while the miracle of love and marriage is beautiful, I’m just putting it out there that I’m going to get married at 5pm because no way am i waking up at some unholy hour to march down the aisle. I’ve already told my mum not to expect any sort of 4am tea thingy because Do you want my eternal happiness or a cup of tea? To which she got all grumpy, so.

And lastly, my sweetheart of a best friend came and left Singapore in what was too short a month.. but what a wonderful month. All fingers crossed nothing goes wrong, but I’m heading up to England to spend christmas and new years with Fred, so all in all i guess there’s a lot to look forward to and life is good x
